Argyle McClure (20), 141 Symon Tower, Falkirk had admitted that on March 11 at an address in Whiteside Loan, Brightons he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly attending the home of his former partner, repeatedly striking the door and letterbox, screaming, demanding entry, uttering threats to cause damage to property and to have children removed from her. He had also admitted breaching his restriction of liberty order after the relationship with his grandfather broke down.

McClure was not present when his case called before Sheriff Mundy at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday. His defence solicitor stated he was in quarantine in prison and had not been brought to court.

The court heard at the time of the offence the accused had recently been released from custody and was given a bail address below his ex partner.

The procurator fiscal depute said: “On March 11 the witness was in her home address with her 16 month old son. At around 1pm the accused attended the locus.

“The witness locked the door in an attempt to stop the accused entering. He was annoyed at not gaining access and began banging on the door and letter box.

“She told him he was not welcome and that she wanted to be left alone.

“He was banging for her to open the door. He began to shout through the letter box saying he was going to slash her tyres. The accused said she would lose her children.

“He eventually left the front door and returned to his bail address. He then returned to the door approximately four times within half an hour. He was heard banging to gain access.”

The court heard when police traced McClure he was “jumping from a rear window of his bail address”.

McClure’s defence solicitor said the accused was “more than aware of what’s likely to happen”.

Sheriff Mundy sentenced McClure to a total of ten months in prison.
