Falkirk court raises questions about sex offender's new bank card

Alarm bells were raised after a sex offender – who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in Grangemouth in 2019 – received a brand new bank card which he did not notify police about.

Gintaras Skerlo (32) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday having pleaded guilty to the offence, which breached his registration restrictions.

Offender spat at Falkirk police saying he had COVID-19

Martin Morrow, defence solicitor, said: “The card number changed at the front – it’s not as if he was operating a secret hidden account.”

Sheriff Christopher Shead admonished Skerlo, who lives in Glasgow.
