Falkirk car thief’s cold turkey excuse

Ferguson, 11 Hillhouse Avenue, Bathgate, admitted the theft, driving without due care and attention and without a licence and insurance on March 8 last year.
Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday the court heard he failed to appear at a social work appointment because he was “withdrawing from drug use and didn’t feel fit to attend”.
The case was adjourned until February 27 for reports to be carried out and Sheriff John Mundy warned Ferguson he faced custody if he failed to attend on this occasion.
