Falkirk bully boy pushed partner down steps

A man’s 13-year relationship looked to be on the rocks when he pushed his better half down a flight of steps causing her to cut her face when she hit the ground.

However, Mathew Lambie (54) and his partner are still an item, despite the violent act he carried out following a heated late night argument.

Appearing from custody via video link at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday Lambie had pled guilty to the assault he committed in Windsor Road, Falkirk on June 2 last year. He also admitted breaching is bail conditions by entering Jarvie Road, Falkirk on September 13, 2019.

The court heard witnesses contacted the police in relation to a domestic incident just after 11pm.

“The witness opened her front door,” said the procurator fiscal depute. “There was a woman outside screaming about her mobile phone. There were cuts on her face and the accused was standing on the doorstep at the time.

“The woman said she was arguing with the accused and he had then pushed her down four steps leading to the front door of the residence. She landed on the ground, causing cuts to her face.”

Lambie was arrested in the early hours of the next morning and told police he had pushed his partner away.

It was stated the 13-year relationship between Lambie and his partner was still on and there had been no previous domestic offences.

Sheriff Derek Livingston placed Lambie, 62 Windsor Road, Falkirk, on a supervised community payback order for two years with a requirement to attend addiction counselling and treatment.
