Kieran Gilmore, CSREC equality engagement officer, said: “We don’t know who is putting them up but we spotted them in Falkirk High Street lamp posts. We’ve had reports of them appearing in other places in the central belt.”

Kieran said the phrase “Diversity is White Genocide” was something that has been used by neo nazi groups.

“We are appalled about it,” he added. “If someone from an ethnic minority sees this they are not exactly going to feel very welcome in Falkirk are they?

“It’s heartbreaking and it makes us angry. I think it is a hate crime.”

CSREC is hopeful police officers can examine CCTV footage to find the culprits.

Anyone who knows anything about the posters, or individuals or groups who have been placing them around town should call police on 101.
