Drunk, no insurance and no licence behind the wheel

A young man who was under the influence of drink when driving has been charged with a host of offences.

Police stopped the 23-year-old’s car in Kersiebank Avenue after officers spotted the car being driven erratically.

A check then revealed the driver didn’t have an appropriate licence or insurance and the vehicle was seized.

Sgt Andrea Campbell said: “Experience shows us that those driving without a licence or insurance are more likely to be involved in an accident.

“The danger increases significantly when a person drives whilst under the influence of alcohol.

“Sadly, too many people continue to drive having consumed alcohol. However, police regularly carry out routine stop/checks such as this to catch those involved.”

The man will appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on September 30.
