Drugs chucked from Larbert driver's car during police chase

Dayle Cowan (26) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having admitted being concerned in the supply of class B drug cannabis in Abbots Road, Grangemouth on June 11.

Procurator fiscal depute Nhabeela Rahmatullah said: “It was 5pm and police saw the accused driving through a red light. Officers activated their blue lights and saw a bag being thrown out of the passenger side of the car.

“He was stopped and stated the herbal material was cannabis and he was doing a favour for someone else by selling it.”

The amount recovered was 151 grams with a value of £125.

Gordon Addison, defence solicitor, said: “He was involved in this by someone he thought was a friend. This person is no longer a friend.”

Sheriff Christopher Shead ordered Cowan 32 Sarti Terrace, Larbert, to complete 120 hours unpaid work within 12 months.
