Stephen Boyd (37) had already pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex partner – pushing her to the ground – in Douglas Place, Bo’ness on April 12 last year.

The court heard he had an outstanding case from February 28 this year.

Sheriff Derek Livingston deferred sentence on Boyd, from Hamiltion, for three months to await the outcome of other matters.

Meanwhile, a thief was advised not to turn up at court last Thursday and the sheriff quipped that made it more difficult to place her in custody.

Shannon McIntyre (24), from Stonyburn, had already pleaded guilty to stealing items and assaulting a man at the B&M store in Linlithgow on May 20, 2017.

She was supposed to turn up for a review of her community order but her solicitor advised her not to come.

Sheriff Derek Livingston fixed a further review for April 15.
