A father called his daughter to warn her to lock her doors because her “uncle Derek was on the rampage”.

Drunken Derek Hamilton (43), 39 West Boreland Road, Denny, did indeed appear at the woman’s door, shouting he would kill her and her father.

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, Hamilton pled guilty to behaving in a threatening manner at Dryburgh Avenue, Denny on October 25.

Ann Orr, procurator fiscal depute, said: “The complainer received the call from her father telling her to lock the front door because her uncle Derek was on the rampage, heavily intoxicated.

“Then she saw the accused through the window. He shouted I’m going to stab you and your dad.”

Police were called.

Sheriff Linda Smith placed Hamilton on an 18 month supervised community payback order with the condition he complete 120 hours of unpaid work within three months.
