Cops captured cocaine supplier outside nightclub

A party-goer's plans to supply friends with cocaine went down the drain when police arrested him outside a nightclub.

Greg Aitken (24) was carrying over £200-worth of the drug, which he told officers he was only holding because he was planning to take it to a party.

Aitken appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having already admitted to being concerned in the supply of the class A drug and resisting arrest, struggling with police officers outside City Nightclub, Princes Street, Falkirk on June 25.

Procurator fiscal depute Samantha Brown said five wraps of cocaine worth a street value £240, £205 cash and a mobile phone were discovered after police officers searched Aitken.

She added: “The accused was seen outside the nightclub in possession of a package. One of the police officers sustained a cut to the back of his hand and another officer got a cut to her finger during the subsequent struggle with the accused.”

Defence solicitor Murray Aitken said: “He said he was going on to a party afterwards with others where the substance was going to be taken by him and others. He was taking the drugs to a party.”

Sheriff Derek Livingston said: “You were involved in the supply of a class A drug but you do have a good background, even though this is your third offence in a short period of time.”

Aitken, 6 Barrie Place, Grangemouth, was placed on a community payback order with the condition he carry out 192 hours unpaid work within six months.
