Children's playpark in Polmont damaged by fire

Youths who set fire to a rope swing in a Polmont playpark are being sought by police.

The incident happened in Gray Buchanan Park at around 7.30pm on Monday.

Three youngsters, aged around 16, were seen setting light to the swing before leaving on bikes. Further damage was caused to the rubber-tiled area underneath.

PC Craig Towler from the Braes Ward Policing Team said: “This mindless and reckless act not only resulted in damage but caused danger to others.

‘‘I am appealing to those responsible to step forward and take responsibility for their actions.

‘‘I am also following a positive line of enquiry to identify these persons and encourage any other witnesses to come foward.
