Charges after Braes fire

Three teenagers have been charged with fireraising after an incident in Slamannan two months ago.

The fire occurred at an empty property on Avonbridge Road, Slamannan on June 12 and resulted in significant damage to the building.

Following police inquiries, three males, all aged 14, have been charged with fireraising.

They will now be the subject of a report to the Children’s Panel.

PC Derek Wallace of the Braes Ward policing team said: “Incidents such as these cause significant danger to those living nearby and to emergency personnel who attend, not to mention the large cost resulting from damage.

“Police take such incidents very seriously and will pursue those responsible. We also work alongside partner agencies in education, social work and the fire service in an attempt to prevent such incidents and to educate young people on the dangers of fire.”
