Stating to security staff at the entrance of the court building he had been exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, Gavin Alexander (33) was subsequently denied entry to the premises.

Unfortunately that meant he failed to show up for his court appointment to be dealt with for the possession of heroin charge he committed at Forth Valley Royal Hospital on July 26 last year.

Defence solicitor Dick Sandeman said Alexander had appeared at the door of the court but had COVID-19 symptoms.

Sheriff Derek Livingston noted Alexander, 4 Dovecot Road, Westquarter, had exhibited signs of COVID-19 symptoms on a number of occasions now.

Sheriff Livingston issued a warrant for Alexander’s arrest.
