A car was stolen outside a Laurieston shop after its engine was left running.

The black Vauxhall Insignia VRM – registration L123 WUL – was taken in Mossgiel Terrace, next to the Post Office, at 5.50am today (Wednesday).

Police are appealing for information to trace the vehicle.

Officers are also urging motorists not to leave vehicles unlocked or running with keys in the ignition.

Anyone who has details which could assist the inquiry is asked to call 101 and reference incident number 0361 of March 24.
