He admitted attacking a man – punching him on the head – at Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club, Redbrae Road, Camelon on January 19, 2020.
Stephen Biggam, defence solicitor, said he had no explanation for Laird’s non appearance.
Sheriff Derek Livingston subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Laird – who lives at 15 Carmuirs Street, Camelon, which is just yards away from the court building.
