Stephen Milligan (29) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, having admitted behaving in threatening manner in Bankhill Court, Grangemouth, on October 12 last year. He also pled guilty to breaching his bail and curfew in Lomond Drive, Langlees on November 26, 2019.

Ann Orr, procurator fiscal depute, said: “The accused had been in a relationship with the woman for two-and-a-half years. He contacted her to say he had money for her regarding damage that had been caused to her vehicle.

“She came to speak to him and he appeared to be under the influence of drink or drugs. An argument broke out between them and as she went to leave he pulled her back by her jacket.

“She had her child with her, who became upset and began to cry. The accused came out holding a steel toe capped boot and began to strike the woman’s vehicle with it. Neighbours became aware of what was going on and began to shout at the accused, who left at that point.”

The court heard the couple wanted their relationship to continue.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton placed Milligan, 14 Grahamsdyke Place, Bo’ness, on a supervised community payback order for two years with the condition he complete 140 hours unpaid work in six months and attend the Caledonian domestic abuse programme.
