Bo'ness drink driver had been hitting the Mad Dog 20/20 before slamming into a parked car

Alcohol led an offender to make a worrying nuisance of himself on foot and behind the wheel of his car.

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thurday, Neil Walker (32), 29 Waggon Road, Bo’ness, admitted the threatening behaviour offence he committed at a premises in Deanfield Terrace, Bo’ness on October 10.

He also pled guilty to drink driving and failing to control his vehicle in Corbiehall, Bo’ness on June 3. He gave a reading of 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 22 microgrammes.

Sarah Smith, procurator fiscal depute, said: “The complainer had been in a relationship with the accused and is the father of her child. It was 8am and she was in her home with her mother and her five-year-old son.

“She became aware there was someone else in the property and she saw the accused had let himself in. He was heavily under the influence of alcohol and began shouting and swearing at her.

“She managed to get him out of the property and he said ‘this is what you wanted’. She locked the door but he remained outside, shouting and swearing and kicking the door.

“She contacted police but he left prior to their arrival.”

Earlier in the year Walker had been caught drink driving following an incident which saw him weaving onto the wrong side of the road.

“It was 5.35am and witnesses were within their vehicle travelling in the direction of Grangemouth. They saw the accused travelling towards them at speed. He swerved onto the wrong side of the carriageway and collided with a stationary vehicle which two people were sitting in.

“Police were contacted as a result of the crash and they detected a strong smell of alcohol from the accused and noticed an empty box of Mad Dog 20/20 within his vehicle.”

Sheriff Derek Livingston banned Walker from driving for 20 months and placed him on a supervised community payback order for two years. He was also made subject of a restriction of liberty order to stay in his home between 7pm and 7am for the next three months.
