Police are investigating a theft where bogus workmen talked their way in to the home of an elderly woman.
The incident happened on Wednesday, July 20, when two men gained access to the house on Dalgrain Road and removed a number of items of jewellery. When caught in the act, the men ran from the address onto Clyde Street.
Although upset, the victim was not harmed during the incident.
Both men involved in this crime were seen to be wearing high-visibility vests which had writing on the back. A small white van, possibly with 09 on the registration plate, was used by them.
Sergeant Craig Heron of Grangemouth Police Office said: “This is a despicable crime where a vulnerable person has been targeted. Rest assured that we will do everything possible to identify and apprehend those responsible.
“I would ask that members of the public remain vigilant to this type of crime and keep an eye out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours. Call the police if you have any concerns or suspicions.”
