Bainsford woman launched attack on police officer in cell

A woman has pleaded guilty to kicking a police officer while in a police cell.

Connie Graham (25), 185 Davids Loan, Bainsford, assaulted the policeman at Falkirk Police Station on April 17, 2019.

Graham, who appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, has also pleaded guilty to behaving threateningly that day by shouting and swearing in Melrose Place, Falkirk.

Procurator fiscal depute Ann Orr said: “She had been arrested and taken to the police office.

“As the officer was trying to speak to her in the police vehicle cell, she tried to kick him and kicked him once.”

Defence solicitor Lynn Swann said her client had been made subject to a community payback order last July.

The solicitor added: “She’s had difficulties with life since.

“She has engaged with a women’s service.”

The court heard Graham had also been taken into custody over a separate matter but was released.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton deferred sentence until January 21, 2021 for a Criminal Justice Social Work report.
