Brownlee (44), who previously admitted the vandalism offence he committed on November 28 last year, also almost made another mistake when he failed to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday despite being given a favourable progress report.

He also pleaded guilty to having an offensive weapon – a metal bar – in public on the same date.

Instead of issuing an arrest warrant for his non-appearance , Sheriff Derek Livingston deferred sentence on Brownlee, 87 Gairdoch Street, Bainsford for three months to July 29.

Sheriff Livingston, who added Brownlee must be of good behaviour during those three months, said: “That’s preferable to a warrant.”
