Bad brother took sister's car in Grangemouth and crashed it

Mark Marshall (20) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having admitted taking his sister’s car without her permission in Islay Court, Grangemouth on November 20.

Procurator fiscal depute Sarah Smith said: “In the early hours the witness was within her home and heard a loud bang from outside. She saw a car had collided with her parked vehicle.”

There were a number of other parked vehicles in the street at the time and Marshall hit most of them, before driving away.

The car went off the road and Marshall was struggling to gain traction, but he was eventually able to drive away again.

Police were contacted the the vehicle was traced back to Marshall’s sister who told officers he did not have her permission to take it.

The court heard the damage to the cars ran into thousands of pounds.

Sheriff Derek Livingston deferred sentence on Marshall, Glenocher Farm, Elvanfoot, Biggar, until February 4, 2021 for a criminal justice social work report.
