Autistic offender attacked man in Falkirk retail park
A man said to suffer from ADHD, OCD and autism repeatedly punched a man until he fell to the ground and continued to rain blows on him as he lay there.
John Duff (23) appeared from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday having admitted the assault to injury offence he committed in Falkirk Central Retail Park on December 29, 2019.
The court heard a psychiatric report had still to be completed on Duff, 47 Castle Avenue, Airth, and had been delayed through no fault of his.
It was stated Duff, who was said to suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and autism, was apparently on the wrong medication at the time of the incident.
Sheriff Richard MacFarlance continued the case for a week until Thursday, March 25 for the purposes of compiling the psychiatric report and ordered Duff continue to be held in custody until that time.
