Arrest following fire at Camelon Juniors ground

Two weeks after a fire at a junior football ground police have made an arrest.

Police were investigating the incident at Carmuirs Park, home of Camelon Juniors, following an early morning fire on Sunday, August 23.

A large container which was being used by a local foodbank as part of the club’s community support during the coronavirus pandemic was totally destroyed.

The club had also hoped to use it for additional changing facilities when football resumes.

PC Bryan Little, Camelon Community Policing Team, said: “Following our previous appeal regarding a fire at Camelon Juniors Football Club on Sunday, August 23, I can now report that a 16 year old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. I would like to thank the local community for their support and engagement during this investigation".
