Andrew Wilson (19) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, having admitted behaving in a threatening manner in Mannfield Avenue, Bonnybridge on January 1.

Procurator fiscal depute Sean Maher said: “Police officers attended having heard reports of a disturbance. At the address a witness to this matter heard a male voice repeatedly shouting ‘do you want me to go?’ and heard loud banging and crashing from within the property.

“She told police the accused had been angry she had gone out and he had smashed up the flat and inflicted cuts to his own arms to make her feel bad.”

Wilson was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment before heading for Falkirk police station.

Simon Hutchison, defence solicitor, said there was a big drug problem in the area Wilson used to reside – but he had now moved away from that premises and was just about to start a new job in distribution.

“He is still a very young man and had been in a relationship with this young lady – they were both immature. Both behaved badly and they are no longer together. He has now put this behind him.”

Sheriff Derek Hamilton ordered Wilson, 27 Nevis Place, Hallglen to pay a £400 fine at a rate of £100 per month.
