Aussie tourists will be searching for Falkirk relatives when they visit the area next year.

Grant and Sheila Brennan, who live near Sydney, have researched their family line and are hoping to catch up with descendants of Grant’s great grandfather, John Wardrop Abercromby, during their trip next August.

Grant (70) said he has a large family of cousins, aunts and uncles, all descended from John Wardrop Abercromby and and his wife Margaret (nee Smith).

“They only had one child, my grandmother, and we certainly exploded outwards from her.

“We have researched the Smith line as we had some knowledge to go on and we hope to catch up with that line when we’re in Falkirk 2015. However we know nothing of John’s line other than he died two years after I was born in 1944.”
