Competition to bake world's best pie heats up
Lanarkshire is the centre of the pie-making world today (Wednesday) as the Scotch Pie World Championships are decided.
Industry professionals are gathering at the Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld to determine exactly who makes the best Scotch pies on the planet.
The reigning World Scotch Pie champ, Linda Hill of Murrays, Perth said: “Taking home this prestigious prize last year meant the world to us at Murrays and, since winning, our business has gone from strength to strength.
“I hope the 2016 winner has the same success as we have enjoyed in the last 12 months so good luck to all of those shortlisted on the day.”
