Colleagues rally round for grieving pal

Nicole Innes (24), from Grangemouth, was left devastated earlier this year when her beloved mum Gillian lost her three-year battle with breast cancer at the age of just 41.

Gillian was cared for at Strathcarron Hospice from early December last year until her passing in April and the tremendous care she received left a lifelong impression on Nicole.

“I was able to experience first hand the compassion and kindness that is felt throughout the hospice,” said Nicole.

“The staff themselves are very special people who do everything they can to make sure both the patients and their loved ones are comfortable and can really enjoy quality time together as a family during such a difficult time.”

After Gillian’s death, Nicole took time off work to grieve but when she returned her colleagues at Webhelp in Larbert, where she has worked for the past eight years, currently in a support staff role, organised fundraisers in her mother’s memory for the hospice, gathering in £1112.

Nicole added: “I was extremely touched by the generosity of my friends and colleagues in Webhelp and am so grateful for what they did.

“They had a dress down day, collection buckets and raffles and raised an outstanding amount. To know that we can help bring hope to other families is very comforting and something that I will treasure forever.”
