Classic Music Live! Falkirk has unveiled its new season of performances with a line-up that showcases some of the hottest young talent on the chamber music scene.

One of the highlights promises to be an appearance by the acclaimed jazz pianist and composer, Falkirk-born Euan Stevenson, who will perform with his jazz quartet alongside Konrad Wisniewski on saxophone, Andrew Sharkey on double bass and Alyn Cosker on drums and percussion. With a programme that includes jazz standards as well as Euan’s original compositions and arrangements it promises to be a night to remember on September 12.

Kicking the season off, however, is a 45-minute concert given by the young tenor Lawrence Smith, from Stirling, who is studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is accompanied by the accomplished pianist Peter Alexander on Friday, August 22.

Throughout the winter months more top talent will be in town, including Isimsiz Piano Trio on Friday, October 17 in FTH; and the well-established Edinburgh Quartet in FTH on Friday, November 14, while the new year will bring artists including the exciting talent of Yuanfan Yang on piano.

There are also several lunchtime dates with artists such as The Salon Trio who play the historic Faw Kirk on September 26.

Tickets for evening performances are £11 (£3 students) and for the lunch time concerts £5 (students £2) are available from the Steeple Box Office on (01324) 506850. Season tickets are also available.
