Clairvoyants' surprise

The special night, organised by Michelle Linton and her friends, took place in Stenhousemuir’s Plough Hotel earlier this month and coined in a sum of £1350 for the Air Ambulance HELP Appeal.

Michelle said: “We decided to hold a charity clairvoyance night after hearing about the HELP Appeal. We asked friends who are involved in spiritualist churches to do readings from stage, like a floor show, and do one to one private readings as well.”

Representatives of the HELP Appeal, Neil Gordon and Gary Mochrie, came along on the night to talk about the charity and raise awareness about what it does, facilitating the air transport of critically ill patients by funding helipads for major trauma hospitals.

Michelle said: “This was the first ever charity night we organised and couldn’t get over the shock of counting a total of £1350. We officially held the first ever fundraiser to be held in Scotland for the charity and we would love to see more people consider this as their chosen charity too given its exceptional work and great cause.

“The Plough Hotel were fantastic and went out their way for our event, nothing was too much for them.”

Michelle also thanked the local businesses who had donated so many great raffle prizes, which included a three-course meal at the Incyra Hotel and a £25 Coppertop voucher, and everyone who made the event a success.
