A trailer carrying livestock has overturned on the M9 through Falkirk.

The incident happened at around 9.15am just after junction 6 at Grangemouth and is causing tailbacks on the northbound carriageway.

Police Scotland say there were two vehicles involved, a trailer containing cattle, believed to be cows, and the silver pick-up hauling it.

Officers are in attendance to clear the situation up along with two appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

It’s not clear at the moment if any of the animals, or anyone in the vehicle, have been injured.
