A former chairman of Falkirk Football Club is remembered in the latest edition of a book looking at men and women who have left their mark on British life.
Campbell Christie, the former general secretary of the Scottish Trades Union Congress, has been added to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography which is published today (Thursday).
He joins 225 other notable new additions who all died in 2011.
Mr Christie served as STUC secretary from 1986 to 1998. Awarded a CBE in 1997, he was a full-time official for the National Union of Civil and Public Servants before he became a leading figure in the STUC.
He joins Gerry Rafferty, Elizabeth Taylor and Amy Winehouse as new additions to the latest edition.
