ILA Cafe

Thanks to everyone who came along to the September Independent Living Cafe in the Sensory Centre. The ILA Cafe is open to anyone with an assessed need from social work and anyone with an interest in disability. The next cafe is next Thursday, October 2 again in the Forth Valley Sensory Centre from 12.30-2 p.m. Now the Referendum is over, there will be plenty to talk about. Come along and enjoy a light lunch, meet old friends, make new ones and give us your opinion. Due to rising costs, we are having to charge £2 per lunch. Spirit Within

Would you like to connect with your spiritual side and meet like minded open individuals? Then come along to our development group every Wednesday in the Ochiltree Club from 7.30-9.30 p.m. Subjects covered include mediumship and psychic work, healing, crystals, Aura reading etc with guided meditations to relax and unwind. Parish Church

Come along and join us for our Sunday morning service at 11 a.m. and stay for a cuppa in the hall afterwards. The youth service will be held this Sunday. Visit our charity shop ‘CPC’ in the Main Street and have a look at what we have to offer. The Tuesday Fellowship will meet at 2 p.m. on September 30, new members are always welcome. Bowling Club

Jamie Lenathen and Harry McFadden won £90 each on Sunday’s 21 club. Willie Halliday and George Halaka had the lowest scores and win £10 each. Presentation dance is on Saturday, October 18 and tickets at £5 are going well. Call Jim on (01324) 625203 or see me at the club to book yours. Carpet Bowls league begins again next week and the club is open tonight (Thursday) for a practice.

Keep Fit

A combined aerobics and toning class is held ever Wednesday in the Mariner Centre at 7.45-9 p.m. For further information call Sheila on (01324) 634192 or 07859933877.

Camera Club

Meets every Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the Scotia Room, Camelon Community Centre. All welcome.

Juniors Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 p.m. On Tuesdays there are refreshments for a small donation. Entertainment tomorrow (Friday)is bey vocalist Irene Corr with the show starting at around 9.15 p.m.

Mariner Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is be Fraser’s Disco. On Saturday the Martin Toal memorial darts competition takes place. Register from noon for a 12.30 p.m. start. Entry is £3 with all proceeds to CHAS. There will be the usual pool and domino tournaments on Sunday from 3.30 p.m. Admission is £1.

Treasure Chest

The winner of the weekly draw in aid of Camelon Juniors FC was Laura McGrory who won the £50 consolation prize.

Tamfourhill Centre

Mariners Day

A meeting takes place on Monday, September 29 in Camelon Juniors Social Club at 7 p.m. to discuss reviving Mariners Day.

Bethany Hall

Koffee Time has its regular slot from 10 a.m. till noon today (Thursday). Our Thought for the Day will be given by Roy this week. On Sunday we meet at 10.30 a.m. for the breaking of bread followed by refreshments at 11.30 a.m. The Bible Teaching which follows at 11.50 a.m. has Mike Pirie as the expected speaker. At 2.30 p.m. some Bethany folk plan to be at Dorrator Court for our short monthly service. Forbes Campbell will sing and the message will be given by Alex Ferrie. On Tuesday Dave will lead the Carmuirs Lunch Club. Jim Elliot’s adventures continue. At 7.30 p.m. that evening we have our prayer meeting and the next study in our series from Paul’s Second Letter to Timothy.

Community Café

This non-profit making café in Camelon Community Centre is open to the public Monday–Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturday 9-1 p.m.

Fruit Barra

Every Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon in Camelon Community Centre come along and get fresh fruit and veg from your local farmer at reasonable prices. We accept Healthy Start Vouchers and there will be information on healthy eating, free recipe cards and tasting sessions.

Youth Clubs

These take place in the community centre: Monday 5.30-6.46 p.m. – P1-P2, 7-9 p.m. – S1-S4; Tuesday 6.30-8.30 p.m. – S5 and over; Thursday 6.30-8.30 p.m. – P3-P5; and Friday 6.30-8.30 p.m. – P6-S1.

Coffe Morning

There is a coffee morning tomorrow (Friday) in aid of Macmillan Nurses in Greenbank Court from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Please give this much deserved cause your full support. All welcome.

NHS Retirement

The next meeting of the fellowship takes place tonight (Thursday) in Camelon Parish Church hall at 2 p.m. All retired staff will be most welcome.
