ILA Cafe

Thanks to everyone who came along to the October Independent Living Cafe in the Sensory Centre. The ILA Cafe is open to anyone with an assessed need from social work and anyone with an interest in disability. The next cafe is on Thursday, November 6, again at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre from 12.30-2 p.m. Come along and enjoy a light lunch, meet old friends and make new ones. Bethany Hall

Koffee Time meets for its usual slot from 10 a.m. till noon today (Thursday). Our expected speaker on Sunday at 11.50 a.m. is Jim McEwan. We have our monthly visit to Summerford this weekend and on Monday return to Wallside at 2 p.m. for a short service there. On Tuesday the Lunch Club meets in Carmuirs Primary. This is the start of a new serial so it will be a good day to join us in the library when lunch is finished. At 7.30 p.m that evening we meet for the Prayer and Bible Teaching Meeting and our expected speaker is Alex Bedford. We expect him to bring us a short report of his recent work and Bible Teaching at that time.

Tai Chi

Relax, have fun and improve your health and wellbeing. Help reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, high blood pressure, relieve the pain caused by arthritis, improve mental health, lessen the likelihood of falls and more. Qigong is a gentle exercise system that improves flexibility, balance and feelings of wellbeing. Meet new people in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. All you need is comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Bowling Club

The Sportsman’s dinner tomorrow (Friday) is 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. Please bring a raffle prize if possible. Could anyone with prize money to lift please pick it up from club asap.

Camera Club

Meets every Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the Scotia Room, Camelon Education Centre. All welcome.

Juniors Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 p.m. On Tuesdays refreshments are available for a small donation. Entertainment tomorrow (Friday) is vocalist Carol Paris with the show starting at 9.15 p.m.

Festive Shows

On Christmas Eve, entertainment at Camelon Junior Social Club is vocalist Joanne Bence. There will also be a disco before and after. The show is from 7-11 p.m. On Hogmanany entertainment is by vocalist Degsy. There will be bingo prior to the show, which will commence at 9 p.m. and finish at 1 a.m. Tickets costing £5 on sale now from the bar.

Mariner Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is provided by Fraser’s disco. There are pool and domino tournaments every Sunday from 3.30 p.m. Admission £1.

Treasure Chest

This week’s winner of the weekly draw for Camelon Juniors FC was H Davidson, who takes the £50 consolation prize, with the ticket bought at Camelon Tesco. Next week’s jackpot will be £900.

Ochiltree Club

Entertainment on Saturday is by Mike Michaels.

Roman Bar

There is a Halloween party, fancy dress optional, tomorrow (Friday) starting at around 8 p.m.

Yorkhill Party

There is a fundraising children’s Christmas Party at the Ochiltree Social Club on Sunday, December 7 in aid of Yorkhill Childrens Hospital from 3-6 p.m. There is no need for tickets, pay £5 per child at door. This includes food, party games, prizes and raffles, but please bring a small gift for your child to receive from Santa – don’t forget to put their name on parcel. Contact Isabel on 634689.

Christmas Fair

This takes place in the Ochiltree Social Club on Sunday, December 7 from 1-4 p.m. There will be a mixture of stalls. All money raised goes to Yorkhill Childrens Hospital.

Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? This is a group of people who meet in a friendly, supportive and confidential environment. There is a Ladies group every Wednesday and Friday from 1-3 p.m. in Camelon Community Project, Abercrombie Street. There is also a Men only group every first and third Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in the Dawson Centre, David’s Loan, Bainsford, as well as a Mixed group every Monday from 7-9 p.m., also in the Dawson Centre.
