Parish Church

Camelon Parish Church would like to thank everyone who donated harvest gifts for our Falkirk Food Bank Collection. This was an amazing effort with donations being given during our recent Harvest Service. We meet to join together for our Sunday worship at 11 a.m. Please join us, visitors are always welcome. Stay and join us for a nice cuppa and a blether at the end of our service. Young Camelon Parish meet on a Sunday in Dorrator Road Halls from 6.30-8 p.m. Everyone from 10 years old upwards is welcome to come along. Allsorts Toddler Group meets on Monday and Wednesday from 8.30-11.30 a.m. in Brown Street halls. We have a wide variety of toys and equipment to suit all. All babies through to pre-school children are welcome to come along with a grown up to spend time having fun and socialising. Our Tuesday Fellowship meet on October 28 from 2-3.30 p.m in Brown Street halls. Please come along and join in our sing along with Alex Anderson. The Wednesday Lunch Group will meet on November 5 at 11.30 a.m. Funplus, a local charity which runs a youth club for young people with special needs and their friends. Anyone from 11-19 years old is welcome to attend. Funplus meet together on Wednesday at 6.30-8.30 p.m. in Dorrator Road Halls.

Tai Chi

Relax, have fun and improve your health and wellbeing. Qigong is a gentle exercise system that improves flexibility, balance and feelings of wellbeing. Meet new people in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. All you need is comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Why not give it a try now come along and see us. Classes held in the Dorrator Road church hall every Monday from 6.30-7.30 p.m.

Spirit Within

Would you like to connect with your spiritual side and meet like-minded open individuals? Then come along to our advanced development circle every Wednesday in the Ochiltree Club from 7.30-9.30 p.m. Subjects covered include mediumship, psychic and energy work with guided meditations to begin. Keep Fit

Camera Club

Meets every Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the Scotia Room, Camelon Education Centre. All welcome.

Juniors Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 p.m. On Tuesdays there are refreshments available for a small donation. Entertainment tomorrow (Friday) is vocalist Robert Watson with the show starting at 9.15 p.m.

Festive Shows

On Christmas Eve, entertainment at Camelon Junior Social Club is vocalist Joanne Bence. There will also be a disco before and after. The show is from 7-11 p.m. On Hogmanany entertainment is by vocalist Degsy. There will be bingo prior to the show, which will commence at 9 p.m. and finish at 1 a.m. Tickets costing £5 on sale now from the bar.

Mariner Bar

There is a Halloween and Famous Singers night on Saturday, October 25. Prizes for best dressed. There are pool and domino tournaments every Sunday from 3.30 p.m. Admission £1.

Treasure Chest

This week’s winner of the weekly draw for Camelon Juniors FC was Sandy Riddoch, who takes the £50 consolation prize, with the ticket bought at Camelon Tesco. Next week’s jackpot will be £850.

Tamfourhill Centre

A country evening with vocalist Janey Kirk takes place tomorrow (Friday) from 8 p.m.

Yorkhill Party
There is a fundraising children’s Christmas Party at the Ochiltree Social Club on Sunday, December 7 in aid of Yorkhill Childrens Hospital. From 3-6 p.m., there is no need for tickets, pay £5 per child at door. This includes food, party games, prizes and raffles, but please bring a small gift for your child to receive from Santa – don’t forget to put their name on parcel. Contact Isabel on 634689.

Christmas Fair

This takes place in the Ochiltree Social Club on Sunday, December 7 from 1-4 p.m. There will be a mixture of stalls. All money raised goes to Yorkhill Childrens Hospital.

Bethany Hall

The second Koffee Time of the week meets today (Thursday) from 10 a.m. till noon. Get prepared for more than just the change of the clock this weekend. At 1 p.m. on Friday Douglas and a friend Keith will join Alex and Charles and others in the High Street some way east of the Steeple. On Saturday there is a Ladies Day in Bethany. For details see the advert in the Church Notices in this edition of the Falkirk Herald. You are invited to join them for as much of that event as you can manage. Our services on Sunday follow the usual pattern. Jack Gillespie is expected to bring the Bible Teaching when we meet at 11.50 a.m. At 2.30 p.m. we meet with the residents of Dorrator Court for a short service in their home. On Tuesday Dave returns for the Lunch Club in Carmuirs Primary. The Bible Study on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. concludes our series on 2 Timothy and the session will be led by Neil MacDonald.

Bowling Club

Frank Ward wins the 21 club this week and picks up £160. Lowest score was Frazer McFarlane and he picks up £20. A superb night was had by all who attended our presentation dance last Saturday. The Sportsman’s dinner on Friday, October 31 is 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. and is sold out. Please bring a raffle prize if possible.

DASH

Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? This is a group of people who meet in a friendly, supportive and confidential environment. There is a Ladies group every Wednesday and Friday from 1-3 p.m. in Camelon Community Project, Abercrombie Street. There is also a men only group every first and third Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in the Dawson Centre, David’s Loan, Bainsford, as well as a mixed group every Monday from 7-9 p.m., also in the Dawson Centre.
