Parish Church

A special fundraising event is planned for one of our younger members, Dawn Hearsum, to help raise funds for her to travel to Jamaica to represent Scotland in taekwondo. This event will be a prize bingo to be held in Camelon Labour Club tonight (Thursday) from 7 p.m. with tickets £2. All donations would be gratefully received and your support appreciated. This Sunday will be a busy day with the Junior Church and YCP prizegiving during the service which begins at 11 a.m. The children will then be having a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ in the hall. Following the service there then be a ‘Bake sale’ and once again the proceeds from the sale will go towards the support of Dawn and the group going to Jamaica. The church walking group are all looking forward to the next outing which will be on Saturday to the area around Dunning in Perthshire. New members are always welcome. Tai chi

Qigong is a gentle exercise system that improves flexibility, balance and feelings of wellbeing, based on the same principles as traditional Chinese medicine. Bowling club

Players for the John O’Connor Funeral Director open pairs on Sunday should report for 9 a.m. and on the green for 9.30 a.m. We have a fantastic entry. The 21 club is now approaching week four and players should check their numbers.

Spirit Within

Would you like to connect with your spiritual side and meet like minded open individuals? Then come along to our development group every Wednesday in the Ochiltree Club from 7.30-9.30 p.m. Subjects covered include mediumship and psychic work, healing, past life regression, law of attraction etc with guided meditations to relax and unwind. Bethany Hall

Koffee Time meets from 10 a.m. till noon today (Thursday). As we approach the shortest night of the year we recognise that summer is upon us. We plan to celebrate this when we meet today and will begin our plans for a bus run to the capital of golf in mid-September. On Sunday we meet for the breaking of bread at 10.30 a.m. followed by light refreshments at 11.30 a.m. The speaker at the bible teaching hour at 11.50 a.m. is Walter Robertson from Paisley. On Tuesday, June 24 at 7.30 p.m. there is a prayer meeting. Are there matters you require prayer for, let us know.

Keep fit

A combined aerobics and toning class takes place every Wednesday in the Mariner Sports Centre from 7.45-9 p.m. Call Sheila on (01324) 634192 or 07859933877 for details.

Camera Club

Meets every Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the Scotia Room, Camelon Education Centre. All welcome.

Juniors Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 p.m. At Tuesday’s session refreshments are available for a small donation. Entertainment tomorrow (Friday) is vocalist Suzanne Scott.

Mariner Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is by Fraser’s Disco.

Ochiltree Club

Entertainment on Saturday is provided by Freeway.

Treasure Chest

The weekly draw in aid of Camelon Juniors was won by Michelle Clark who takes the £50 consolation prize. This week’s jackpot is £650.

Summer fayre

Takes place in Wellside Grange Nursing Home, Tamfourhill this Sunday, June 22 from noon till 4 p.m. There will be lots of stalls and refreshments.

Braveheart Walks

The June monthly walk will take place at the wonderful Loch Katrine, on Tuesday, June 24, starting at 1.30 p.m. Transport is provided there and back, leaving from Camelon Education Centre at noon and returning for 5 p.m. The bus is now fully booked.
