ILA Cafe

Thanks to everyone who came along to the November independence living cafe. The ILA cafe is open to anyone with an assessed need from social work and to anyone with an interest in disability. Following the winter break the next cafe is on Thursday, February 5 in the Sensory Centre, Camelon from 12.30-2 p.m. Come along and enjoy a light lunch and a chat with old friends, or meet new ones. Keep Fit

A combined aerobics and tonine class takes place every Wednesdy in the Mariner Sports Centre from 7.45-9 p.m. For further information call Sheila on (01324) 634192 or 07859933877.

Camera Club

Meets every Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the Scotia Room, Camelon Education Centre. All welcome.

Junior Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from around 7.30 p.m. At Tuesday’s session there are refreshments available for a small donation. Entertainment on Friday is vocalist Tony Andrews with the show starting around 9.15 p.m. There will be a Valentine’s Night Party on Saturday, February 14 from 8 p.m. till late. Entertainment is vocalist Janne Bence and tickets, costing £2, are available from the bar.

Mariner Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is Alistair’s Disco. There are pool and domino tournaments every Sunday from 2.30 p.m. Admission is £1.

Treasure Chest

The weekly draw in aid of Camelon Juniors was won by Caroline Peacock who took the £50 consolation prize. Next week’s jackpot will be £550.

Prize Bingo

The event in aid of Mariner’s Day is being held in the Ochiltree Social Club on January 30 form 7.30 p.m. Entry is £1.

Roman Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is by Tame the Hat from 4-7 p.m.

Youth Clubs

Taking place in Tamfourhill Community Centre on Wednesdays the junior youth club for P1-P3 from 5.45-6.45 p.m. and P4-P7 from 7-8.30 p.m.; and senior youth club is on Thursday from 6.30-8.30 p.m. for S1 onwards.

Bowling Club

Last Saturday’s Burns supper was an amazing success. Thanks go to Grant Williamson for organising the event, all the speakers, band and a full house of guests. Our main sponsor was Scott Sibbald of the Highlander Hotel in Armadale. The club agm is on Sunday at 2 p.m. and a full attendance is required. Nominations for President are also required. The Ladies agm is on Wednesday, January 28 at 2 p.m.

Bethany Hall

Weather permitting today (Thursday) we meet for Koffee Time in Bethany from 10 a.m. till noon. We assure you of a warm welcome and a hot cuppa. On Sunday we meet at 10.30 a.m. for our Breaking of Bread Service. After a break for refreshments we meet again at 11.50 a.m. when our expected speaker is Stephen Marshall. At 2.30 p.m. that day we will hold a short service in Dorrator Court for the first time in 2015. May and Jim Paterson will bring the messages in song and word. On Tuesday we have the lunch club for P4-P7 in Carmuirs Primary. That evening we meet for prayer and bible study – this term we are following a study in Proverbs – this should last us until Easter. Course books are now available. Roy Gray will DV open this series of studies.

Youth Clubs

These take place in Camelon Community Centre on Monday from 5.30-6.45 p.m. for P1-P2 and 7-9 p.m. for S1-S4; Tuesday from 6.30-8.30 p.m. for S5 and over; Thursday from 6.30-8 p.m. for P3-P5; and Friday from 6.30-8.30 p.m. for P6-S1.

Community Cafe

This non-profit making cafe in Camelon Community Centre is open to the public Monday to Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Fruit Barra

Takes place every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon in Camelon Community Centre. Come along and get fresh fruit and veg from your local farmer at reasonable prices. Healthy Start vouchers accepted and information available on healthy eating, free recipe cards and tasting sessions.
