A logistics firm is expanding its business once again and moving into new territory in Europe.
Grangemouth-based Duncan Adams has prospered since it became a member of Palletways, the largest dedicated network for the express delivery of palletised freight in Europe, and it is now offering a full range of distribution services to Austria.
The firm could not be happier to extend its range to the land that gave birth to Mozart and, more recently, Arnold Schwarzeneggar.
Gordon Goudie, principal at Duncan Adams, said: “This development is really exciting. It will open up a new market opportunity for us and our customers and adds to our ever-growing pan-European delivery capability.”
This latest expansion now means Duncan Adams provides delivery services to 14 European countries.
As well as recent addition Austria, the Grangemouth haulier also covers Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia, Spain and, of course, the UK.
The Palletways network is made up of independent transport companies, like Duncan Adams, which share each other’s resources to deliver consignments to the marketplace faster and more cost effectively.
Earlier in the year Duncan Adams’ association with Palletways saw it take full advantage of the network’s Digital Information Hub.
The first system of its kind in the industry, it allows Duncan Adams to obtain live updates on the progress of its deliveries.
Mr Goudie said: “No other local transport company providing express delivery services can offer this kind of data to customers.
“We can now see where every pallet is every minute of every day.”
