A long established audio visual store will bring vinyl back to Falkirk when it reveals its new look interior to customers this weekend.
Hi Fi Corner has been a fixture in the town’s Cow Wynd for over 40 years and has just undergone thousands of pounds worth of refurbishment work over the last two months.
Manager Paul McMahon (43) has worked at Hi-Fi Corner for 15 years.
He said: “We’ve ripped down walls and doors and ripped up floors so it looks entirely different – we’ve taken before and after pictures to document it. Everything will look modern and slick.”
The surroundings, like the equipment on sale, might be state-of-the-art but the decision to stock and sell records is a retro touch that will have everyone from DJs to regular music fans beating a path to the Cow Wynd.
“It’s been a long time since a shop sold vinyl records in Falkirk,” said Paul. “It will fit in well with our hi fi equipment, turntables and home cinema gear. The reason we have been here so long is we always look for the best quality kit to sell.
“We are independent and not a franchise so no one tells us what we can and cannot sell.”
The new look Hi Fi Corner will open for all to see from 10.30am on Saturday and people will be able to check out the new range of top quality brand name hi fi equipment, including amplifiers, CD players, DACs, turntables and loudspeakers, as well as all the latest home cinema tech – including the Yamaha YSP-2500 digital sound projector.
Always stocking the finest brand names, the reborn Hi Fi Corner will continue this tradition, with high end goods from Linn, Samsung, Rotel, Spendor, Sennheiser, Quad, Denon, Onkyo, Audiolab, Apollo and Isol-8.
