Staff at a Falkirk boutique were popping open the champagne after being voted the best in Scotland.
Frox of Falkirk won the overall wedding boutique of the year title at the Scottish Wedding Awards in Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza on Tuesday night after customers and clients rated them number one.
The boutique, which specialises in mother-of-the-bride and groom outfits, was the only local business to win an award at the black-tie event hosted by radio personality Gina McKie.
Fiona Wilson, owner of the Newmarket Street outlet, said: “I am absolutely elated.
“I want to thank our fabulous customers and the fantastic staff here who have always supported me.
“The award came as a complete surprise.
“During the award ceremony, we were the second last category, so it was a really nervous, nail-biting night as we sat and waited through all the other awards and speeches.
“But it was wonderful to win.
“I would say that the thing that sets us apart is our commitment to customer service.”
Two other local businesses were also shortlisted for awards.
Airth Castle was in the running for the regional wedding venue of the year category and also the nationwide romantic venue of the year, while Falkirk’s Ann Baff Flowers made the cut in the florist of the year contest for south west Scotland.
The award ceremony also raised £1000 for The Well Foundation which will go straight to its Feed Our Community project.
Irfan Younis of the event organisers said: “We were honoured and delighted to have such great finalists and winners representing the Scottish wedding industry.”
