A healthy juice bar has expanded into a raw patisserie.
Blitz, based in Callendar Square shopping centre opened at the start of the year, selling raw juices, protein bars and healthy snacks.
But now the businesses has branched out to offer cakes suitable for people on free from gluten, sugar and dairy and vegan diets.
Paul MacDonald, who runs the cafe with his wife Ludmila, said: “We were looking at starting to sell raw cakes and found there was nowhere else making their own raw healthy cakes.
“We started experimenting and the cakes have been proving popular. There are so many people with gluten or dairy intolerances as well as diabetics that have to be careful with what they eat. Because we make everything we can tell them exactly what the cakes contain.”
Paul and Ludmila took a stall at the Falkirk Farmers market and found new customers who didn’t know they were there.
Paul added: “We get a lot of custom from the gym upstairs but taking the stall opened us up to a new market and we have got a lot of repeat customers. Our product is unique and we are getting customers driving from all over to reach us. Because of that, we hope to be selling online soon too.”
