A former county golfer from Falkirk has shown real drive to land his dream job with Deer Park Golf Club in Livingston.
Brian Inglis visited the 6727 yard par 72 course during this year’s Deer Park Masters tournament and was so impressed with the club he knew he had to line up a job there if a suitable post became available.
So Brian, who had been working with the PGA at Gleneagles and had run his own golf consultancy in England in the past, immediately swung into action when he learned there was a vacancy for a golf sales manager at Deer Park.
He said: “I was told the existing sales manager was leaving and general manager Stuart Cruickshank asked if I fancied applying for the job. I jumped at the chance as Deer Park is a great course.”
Still holding a low single figure handicap, Brian mostly plays socially these days and has struck gold balls at almost 400 of Scotland’s golf courses over the years, so he knows what makes a good course and what golfers look for in a club.
He will now be a point of contact with corporate customers, golf societies and new and existing members as he seeks to promote the value in golf club membership at Deer Park.
