An award-winning butchers is hoping for more success as it gears up for one of the busiest times of the year.
The talk might be all about turkey, but for Thomas Johnston Quality Butchers its own pies and beef are on the menu.
The popular Cow Wynd family company has just been shortlisted for the World Scotch Pie Championships.
Run by the Scottish Bakers and the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders, the competition attracted over 100 professionals – the highest ever entry.
As well as Scotch pies, contestants entered their best sausage rolls, bridies, speciality savouries, Scottish football pies and apple pies.
The winner of the Scotch Pie category will be announced on January 14.
Continuing their routine of purchasing the best cattle on offer, Thomas Johnston secured the supreme champion at the annual Christmas show and sale held by Caledonian Marts in Stirling.
Richard Johnston judged the event and selected a Charolais bullock from Riverdale Farm, Strathaven, which was then purchased by the family firm.
