Young mechanic Connaire Cameron is helping to keep his older colleagues switched on.
The teenager, who joined equipment and tool hire firm Speedy Services in Grangemouth three years ago as a 16-year-old trainee, has started giving senior members of the team computer lessons.
As the youngest member of staff, Connaire has been able to show off his tech skills with a new computer system introduced into the Speedy network in June.
Area manager Ritchie Maule said: “The age range in the depot reaches up to 60 years and the older team members aren’t very clued up on how to use modern computer software so Connaire volunteered to train them in the skills needed to understand our new system. It’s been fantastic because every member of staff needs to use the system and after the initial training they’ve been getting practical, day-to-day help from Connaire.”
The youngster joined Speedy after being placed for three months work experience by Falkirk Council’s Employment and Training Unit. He quickly impressed senior staff and he was hired full time.
