Around 50 jobs have been created with the opening of a new discount store in Camelon.

The company behind Home Bargains has invested £500,000 in the shop which will be officially opened by Provost Pat Reid on Saturday.

This is the first store to be launched by TJ Morris Ltd under this brand in the Falkirk area and joins 370 outlets across the UK.

The shop in Redbrae Road is adjacent to
Aldi and on the site where Johnston (Falkirk) Ltd, publishers of The Falkirk Herald, previously had its base.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our first store in Falkirk and look forward to welcoming new customers through the doors.”

The 20,000 sq. ft unit will stock a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks.

Joe added: “This will be a great location for us and we’re pleased to be a new addition to the local business community.”

With more than 3.5 million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s leading discount retailers.
