The owner of the Sisters Boutique in Falkirk’s Lint Riggs was a winner at this year’s Pure London Buyers Power List awards.
The awards attract top performers bidding to be named number one in their respective categories which include Best Independent Buying Team, Best Department Store, Best Online, Best Accessories, Best Footwear, Best Individual Menswear and Best Individual Womenswear Buyer – the title that Lauren won.
As usual, competition was fierce. Nominations had to survive a two-stage voting process before being included in an impressive shortlist of finalists that this year included John Lewis, NEXT, Topshop, Fenwick, Avenue 32, Topman, Harvey Nichols, Gina Ricci, Kurt Geiger and Wolf & Badger.
To bring home her title, Lauren had to beat off the challenge of High Street rivals Lipsy, The Women’s Society Boutique, Lux Fix and A. Hume Country Clothing. She also had the added satisfaction of having Sisters Boutique short listed for the Best Independent Buying Team accolade.
She said: “It was a tough contest given the other buyers I was up against were there representing Harvey Nichols and NEXT to name just a few! I’m ridiculously proud to have this award, particularly when times are hard for the retail trade.
“I think it’s nice to get good news for the town. It’s all been a bit of ‘doom and gloom’ recently and we’ve just had this awful summer that’s been a bit of a joke for everybody and a killer for the trade!”
