Corbie Inn win Heart of the Community award at Best Bar None Scotland national awards 2014-15

A public house team have proved they are at the centre of the community they serve.

The Corbie Inn in Bo’ness was one of five licensed premises from the Falkirk Council area nominated for the Best Bar None Scotland national awards 2014-15.

And the popular hostelry took the Heart of the Community accolade, sponsored by Police Scotland, at last Thursday’s ceremony in Edinburgh.

The awards reflect the winners’ efforts in looking after their customers and creating a safe and responsible drinking environment.

Corbie Inn owner Gail Fairholm said: “I was very happy that we got into the final five out of 500 entries and then absolutely delighted when we won. There is a great team at The Corbie Inn and the award would not have been won without them.”

Four more Falkirk venues were also shortlisted: Behind the Wall for independent pub and best use of innovation; Sportsters in the bar category; City in the ightclub category and the Orchard Hotel for best hotel bar.

Best Bar None operates throughout Scotland and has accredited over 400 venues.
