The Meville Street venue is no stranger to the local music scene, but this regular new slot, The Loft Sessions, is really striving to give people a platform to get their songs heard.

The first event takes place on Thursday, February 4 and features Alternative Music in Falkirk best solo artist award winner Calum Baird. The conscientious guitar picker had a great year in 2015 and looks set to top that this year as he delivers his heartfelt, highly charged political songs to the masses.

Calum will be on the same bill as bluesy rockers The Blue Lights – Kirstin Hamilton (vocals), Michael James Young (guitar), Kerr Chalmers (guitar), Meg Kenny (bass) and Michael McGee (drums) – and acoustic warriors Cousin Kenny.

Organiser Rik Toner said: “Each session will see three local acts grace the stage for a night of brilliant live music and a great opportunity for everyone to see the great talent the resurgent Falkirk music scene has to offer.

“From newcomers to the more established players on the scene, The Loft Session will be showcasing the best local talent in Falkirk.”

Tickets are available now from Behind the Wall.
