Last Sunday the minister Rev. Murdo Campbell led the communion services at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. At the start of the morning service Kathryn Cloke, on a visit from Vis de Copil (A Child’s Dream) in Romania, was invited to address the congregation. Kathryn gave an interesting insight into the work, with accompanying slides, they are involved with in Romania and some of the plans they have for the future development of their ongoing work. She warmly thanked the congregation for its continuing support through monetary contributions and or prayer. This Sunday, the minister will conduct the service at 11 a.m. The Deacons’ Court will meet on Tuesday at 7.45 p.m. This will be followed by the Kirk Session meeting at 8.45 p.m. Both meetings will take place in the Rankine Hall. There will be the regular Prayer time prior to the Court at 7.15 p.m. in the Small Hall. The Annual Business Meeting will take place after the morning service on Sunday, March 23. The monthly half hour service (from 11.30 a.m. - noon) will take place on Thursday, March 20. Door duty this Sunday will be by Robin Johnston, May Kennedy, James Falconer, Sandra Smillie, Willie Tomlinson and John Rae. The creche will be manned by Lorna Duke, Gillian Hunter and Joanne Kilpatrick.
Brightons Ladies’ Group meets in the Community Hall at 7.45 p.m. on Tuesday for a fundraising evening with entertainment provided by accordionist Ron Rodgers. Money raised will go towards our chosen charity, the RNLI. All All ladies welcome. Admission £3.
The RVS Club for the Elderly meet again on Wednesday in the Rankine Hall of Brightons Parish Church from 2–4 p.m. when Morag Robertson will provide entertainment. Anne and Jean will be in touch regarding transport arrangements. Further enquiries to Jean on 282207.
