Parish Church

Last Sunday, Rev. Murdo Campbell conducted the 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Communion Services. At the 11 a.m. service, Rachel and Douglas Gilmour were admitted into church membership by Profession of Faith. On behalf of the congregation the minister and Deputy Session Clerk, Eric Smith offered them a warm welcome with the right hand of fellowship. This Sunday, Rev. Danny Mathers, Pastoral Assistant, will conduct the 11 a.m. service. The Guild’s final afternoon meeting of the session is this Monday at 2 p.m. The speaker is Gordon Harper, Forestry Ranger, who will give an illustrated talk on Callander Woods and the walks at FVRH. A warm invitation is extended to everyone to join us. The Deacons’ Court will meet this Tuesday at 7.45 p.m. This will be followed by the Kirk Session meeting at 8.45 p.m. Both meetings will take place in the Rankine Hall. Prior to the Deacons’ Court there will be the regular prayer time at 7.15 p.m. in the vestry (note location change), open to all Elders and Deacons. Door duty this Sunday will be by Moira Alexander, Gordon Scott, Malcolm Little, Andy Gillespie. Jessie Wallace and Jean Meek. On crèche duty will be Lorraine Campbell, Nancy Lees and Alistair McDonald.

Ladies’ Group

Brightons Ladies’ Group will meet in the Community Hall at 7.45 p.m. on Tuesday (March 17) for a musical evening with Walter Williamson. This is a fundraising meeting. Admission £3. All ladies welcome.

Friendship Plus

The next meeting of the group will take place in the Rankine hall of Brightons Parish Church from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18. James Falconer will provide musical entertainment and there will be the usual tea, coffee and cake. Cost for the afternoon is £2. Jean will be in touch regarding transport arrangements but please contact her on (01324) 282207 if any further information is required.

Metafit Falkirk

A class is on Thursdays at 8.15 p.m. in Brightons Community Hall. Tone muscle, boost metabolism and burn fat. For more information call 07739718361.

Hip Hop

Over-50s Group

Make It Happen Forum - The local meeting of the Make It Happen Braes Forum for over-50s will be held in the Grange Community Centre, Brightons on Monday, March 16 from 1.30-3.30 p.m. The Forum is a great way for over-50s to get involved, discuss ideas and concerns and to have a real voice in your community. Please come along and you’ll receive a warm welcome. Free to join and refreshments provided.
