Brightons Whist and Dominoes saw Isobel Bennie come first in the whist competition with Helen Forde second. Janet Gillespie took the dominoes crown with Margaret Hunter and Bruce Huntly joint second.

Parish Church

Last Sunday Rev. Murdo Campbell led the worship and was assisted by Donald Meek who led the Children’s and Young People’s message. In the evening the minister led the last monthly evening service until September. This Sunday the minister will conduct the Communion Services at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Kirk Session will meet prior to these services at 10.15 a.m. (note the earlier time) and 2.45 p.m. The retiring collection at both these services will be for Tear Fund. Tonight the Guild Presbyterial Council Summer Rally will take place in the church at 7.30 p.m. This is an open meeting for members and non-members, male and female. The speaker is Kay Brown. Tea/coffee, homebaking, chat and a bookstall will follow the meeting in the hall. Many thanks to all who donated, collected and counted the money for Christian Aid Week. The total raised was £2477. The Sunday School Fun Day and BBQ for the Beginners and Juniors will take place in the Church grounds on Saturday 14th June from 11.30 a.m-2 p.m. This invitation is extended to the family and friends of our Sunday School children and the wider congregation. The Blood Transfusion Service will be at the church halls this Monday from 2.30-3.45 p.m. and 5.15-7.30 p.m. Door duty this Sunday will be by Robin Johnston, May Kennedy, Laura Crompton, Willie Tomlinson, Sandra Smillie and John Rae. The crèche will be manned by Nancy Lees, Lesley Mann and Linzi Matheson.

Zumba Class

Zumba with Pauline is on in Brightons Community Hall every Wednesday from 8.15 - 9 p.m. Please note from Wednesday, June 11 until August 13 (inclusive) start time will be 7.30 p.m. Come along and dance your stresses away, get fitter and meet new friends.
